Its name comes from the “broili”, the small vegetable gardens grown next to the old Friulian homes. This is a piece of land that was often planted with grapevines in order to provide wine for the family’s consumption.
The Friulano (50%) and Chardonnay (30%) grapes are partially dried in the drying lofts by means of ventilated air, with a humidity level close to zero and at a temperature of 12 ° C to concentrate the juices. The Sauvignon grapes (20%), are harvested a few days early and not dried.
All three varietals are then blended together and fermented part in steel part in barrique. This results is a classic white wine vinification with a short maceration.
This wine pairs well with the dishes of the haute cuisine, oven-roasted fish or velvety sauces, risottos with truffles, medium aged cheeses, shrimp and “toc in braide” (polenta made with milk and melted cheese sauce covering) topped with foie gras.
